I am much more in the mood for light-hearted matters, but I have a feeling that the Russian ambassador's recall from Georgia is going to turn out to be the beginning of something earthshaking.

Yes, I know there are a hundred other big events transpiring in the world, but as my regular readers know, I'm not swayed by every wind that blows.

It would be too hard to translate the mountain of data that led me to this conclusion into a comprehensible rationale that would make sense to even the highly-intelligent readers of this blog.

But, I think that in the coming weeks it will become clear to anyone with a high-school education that this obscure event is suddenly at the center of the whole world's attention.
